Ohayo Cali! The story behind the design.

William Snell and Michael Mouton started Ohayo Cali Brand 50 Fingaz as a way to represent a California lifestyle that’s universal in its roots and logo. William creates the art, while Michael runs with the branding and printing. As mentors, fathers and older brothers, they both work with the youth in our community to encourage them towards positivity. They had dreamed of owning their own business for years, and clothing seemed like just the right niche.

But what is the meaning behind the design? “Ohayo Cali” means “Good Morning Cali” in Japanese. Anytime you can hear or say those words you’re blessed to live life. 50 Fingaz represents the value of having the world in your hands with the help of others. The Ohayo Cali logo represents this idea in the shape of a hand, with each finger depicting the diversity in our community.

Ohayo Cali Brand (OCB) reflects a philosophy of “Do Not Sleep Your Life Away” with clothing and accessories for youth and adults. They provide good quality products mixed with the latest trends and colors. The variety of wear is also offered in different sizes and is comfortable to wear.

Ohayo Cali has said, “We want our customers to value each day wherever their journey in life takes them and to realize they are unique.”  Here at Discover San Jose, we’re all about unique designs and local artists, so Ohayo Cali is a perfect fit!
